And of course Mark Alanzo and my good friend Michelle Parsons of 944 for requesting my presence too. Michelle's boyfreind Jimmy and I actually sat in for a song or two at the last Heart Eyes Open show at City Tavern last Friday night for a send off to our friend Eric Martin. Eric is moving to New York in a few weeks. For a fashion rules party looking back I think I should have maybe dressed a bit more...fashionable?

FOR THE LOVE OF KETTLE ART SHOW February 12th, 2011

I showed two paintings in the, "For The Love of Kettle Art Show" this past Weekend and sold both of them the first night of the opening. Thanks to Kettle for having me once more at their gallery and thanks to Alex for snapping photos of my work that night. New Works and things of interest

Here are a few pictures of both newer and a few older works that haven't been added to the blog yet. I've been very busy my band THE ORANGE  these past few months leaving me little time to show art. However I have been visiting museums, sketching, painting and planning another solo show this coming spring so stay tuned for the details.                        I sent it back where the wolves reside, 2010 by Scott Tucker

I stole this, painted it and returned it to where I originally found it. It looked so interesting among all the other brown wood crates/pallates in such a brilliant shade of red it was beautiful. Two people walked casually by talking as I was replacing it and taking pictures. They both stopped, looked at me like I was crazy and then kept walking. Although most of my works are paintings and sculptures I fully subscribe to Marcel Duchamp's idea of ready made art. There is something asthetically pleasing about the everyday things around us that we see but don't ever think about. In this piece I aimed to display just that. The norms of the wolves; a showcase of the everyday duty and quality in an industrial capitalist socieity highlighted in a brilliant shade of red. I took it, changed it and sent it back to where the wolves reside.

This last week I visited the new Goss Michael Foundation and did some sketching, The Goss Michael Foundation is a really cool gallery owned by singer George Michael and his partner Kenny Goss that displays British contemporary works here in Dallas. Highlights of the collection include Saint Sebastian, Exquisite Pain, by the great Damien Hirst (the most important British artist of the 90's) and a really cool sculpture/collage called, Black Narcissus/Ellwood, L Word- Culture Station by the artist Richard Patterson. I strongly reccomend a trip to this place as it really is worth the hard time I had finding it amongst the design district.

Members of THE ORANGE at ArtCon 6

We are most likely to attend the ArtCon 6 wrap up party at the Doublewide on Tuesday Dec 7th. Best part, the artists drink free! at least the first few. ArtCon 6 raised $30,000 this year, a record high. Thanks to Jason Janik for snapping our photo at the event.

Recently Finished Commisioned Works

I've been fortunate enough lately to pick up some very nice cleints who gave me an unlimited amount of time to finish their projects. Becuase we were in no time crunch they recieved what I feel has been some of my best work to date and I just want to say THANK YOU! Here are some photos of the projects.

This piece was commisioned for a recently remodeled condo in North Dallas. I delivered it yesterday to a great cleint. It looks absolutely amazing on top of white venitain plaster and several spotlights illuminating the vibrant colors on canvas. It's quite a large piece at 5 1/2ft by 3ft. I really think it is one of my best to date. Enjoy Helene!

  This painting was commisoned by a friend of mine who recently took a beach vacation out of the country and wanted the house she stayed in with her husband on the ocean sealed on canvas forever. I offered to do it as part of my Fantastico series. I thought the cool cobalt blue of the series would reflect an atmosphere of bliss the best. It turned out brilliant. The blue is breathtaking

This was a series of three canvas' that I did for a client called "Just Below the Ice". This piece deals with shape and movement above other things and again, I feel it reflects a new direction for me as an artist. Another one of my best to date.

In other local art news I just found out that the Goss Michael Foundation is reopening it's doors at a new location in Oaklawn twice the size of its last. The Goss Michael Foundation specializes in exposing young and mid career British artists to Dallas including Damien Hirst, one of my absolute favorites of the "Cool Britania Movement" of the 90's.They officially open the new space on November 19th with a VIP cocktail party the night before. Wish I would have recieved an invite to that! Check it out if you get a chance.

ART CONSPIRACY UPDATE

The Final

Thanks to all my freinds who came and enjoyed Art Conspiracy this year! My painting sold in the first auction and I know the buyer is enjoying it now, Once again, Thanks everyone!

The Start

Art Conspiracy will be happening this Saturday!  I also just found out Ishi will be playing a set at the event! We caught their set a couple of weeks ago at Granada with Hoyotoho and BTD and the show was seriously amazing. At this point I have no idea what I'm going to paint so hopefully I will get an idea soon. The artists involved in the show create the pieces on Friday on location. On Saturday they host the event and auction the works off. I think there is a $5 charge per person at the door. Most likey this address is a warhouse in west Dallas. http://www.artconspiracy.org/
